Welcome to Maitre De Diamant. We are a 100 percent family owned and operated jewelry house built on four generations of experience in New York City. For decades, our family has crafted fine jewelry for major retailers and private clients. Today, we are proud to bring that same level of craftsmanship directly to you.
We started this company with a simple belief. Beautiful, high-quality jewelry should not be out of reach. For years, we watched our pieces move through layers of middlemen and land in stores at prices that very few people could enjoy. The workmanship was ours. The passion was ours. Yet the final price was shaped by everyone else in the chain.
That never felt right.
Maitre De Diamant was created to change that. Meet The Designer
Merafson Ghaffarian
Every collection at Maitre De Diamant begins with the heart and vision of Merafson Ghaffarian. Born in Shiraz, Iran, Merafson grew up surrounded by artistry, floral motifs, and the quiet elegance that shaped her earliest understanding of beauty. Those early influences live in her work today, reflected in the soft curves and thoughtful details woven through her designs.
Her journey to the United States was marked by resilience. Forced to flee during the Iranian Revolution, she arrived with nothing but her creativity and determination. Fashion became her outlet. Jewelry became her language.
As her career evolved, Merafson traveled extensively, drawing inspiration from the art, textures, and emotions she encountered along the way. She pours those experiences into every collection, creating pieces that feel meaningful, modern, and timeless.
After studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology, she launched her own wholesale design house, where her fresh, fashion-forward approach quickly captured the attention of leading retailers in New York City’s Diamond District. Her reputation grew as she curated collections for several major international designers, lending her artistic perspective and refined technique to some of the industry’s most recognizable creative teams.
Today, Merafson leads the creative vision at Maitre De Diamant. She oversees a team of more than twenty designers and personally designs every piece in our most exclusive collection, the Merafson line. Her heritage, her experiences, and her love for creating meaningful beauty continue to shape everything we make.
A Note from our Founder
I grew up surrounded by diamonds, craftsmanship, and the values my family built its name on. Over the years, I watched countless pieces we created end up behind glass counters at prices far beyond what most people could justify. The quality was there, but the accessibility was not. I knew it was time to change the way people experience fine jewelry.
